“Lovely stylish boutique B&B with excellent breakfast”
Stayed one night mid April 2016 arranged via booking.com. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room (2) was very tastefully decorated and immaculately clean etc. Bed was fine slept like a log. The coffee in the room was of a high standard. Bathroom was modern and well designed with good fitments – shower worked perfectly. The room is at the back so it would have been quiet but in fact the road the Grafton is on is intrinsically quiet. The location is a short walk from town so the location is great. The breakfast was exceptionally good, better than many more expensive hotel. Frankly faultless and very good value.
“Spotless, convenient bed and breakfast”
My husband and I stayed at The Grafton for a short break in Harrogate. The Grafton is a pleasant ten-minute walk from the centre of Harrogate making it a convenient location for the conference centre, shops and restaurants and is situated on a quiet road. The room was spotless, recently refurbished with nice touches such as good quality biscuits on the tea tray and toiletries in the room. The breakfast was excellent, good quality bacon and sausages, nice porridge, fruit and homemade cake. There was a very comfortable sitting room with a good selection of magazines and a daily newspaper as well as a bar open in the evening. The owners were very helpful and the waitress at breakfast friendly but professional. If we return to Harrogate we will definitely stay here again.

“Quality B&B”

My husband and I stayed in room 10 for an Easter break. The whole building is decorated to a very high standard, very modern yet comfortable. Its the little touches that I loved, the slippers and gown, the Noir toiletries (wonderful!), the spring water bottles on the dresser. As well as these, the bed was huge and very comfortable, a huge television, plenty of storage with an ironing board and hair dryer supplied. The bathroom was stunning, hot water from the shower at the touch of a button. The breakfast was excellent, juices, water and ice cubes, yogurts, fresh fruit salad, croissants and cakes (walnut and date cake was lovely), scrumptious cooked breakfasts all served in a light, modern dining room-nothing was too much trouble. The owner will advise you where to visit and eat (he even borrowed us a brolly). All the areas are spotless and well cared for plus there’s a lovely lounge to relax in. All the staff we met were friendly and attentive, especially the young lady who served breakfast. Well worth a visit, thoroughly recommended, a lovely, peaceful hotel “Modern and Homely”

My partner and I enjoyed a very lovely 3 nights stay here. The staff were welcoming and did an excellent breakfast! The rooms are fairly small but exceptionally clean, well decorated and comfortable. I would recommend The Grafton for couples looking for a special occasion and for anyone wanting to stay in a nice quiet area yet just a ten minute walk to the town centre.

Guest Feedback

“Fantastically Modern 5* Hotel”

We booked at the Grafton via LateRooms.co.uk, and could not have been happier with the service. The rooms were incredible, there is clearly a lot of thought that had been put into the design and decor, with massive comfortable king sized beds, fast free wifi and luxuriously thick towelling and bedding.

The complimentary toiletries offered were from the White Company London, and we were plied with Harrogate Spring Water and Taylor’s of Harrogate Coffee – the local feel was strongly appreciated at mealtimes as well, including a wondrous breakfast comprising of local food from nearby farms.

Staff were enormously helpful, and the service was immaculate. Whilst the prices are slightly higher than other local hotels due to its 5* rating, the extra expense is more than worth it due to the quality and variety of free provision included with the room, such as breakfast and sundries.

The orange juice at breakfast was a particular highlight – it had clearly been hand pressed on site and tasted amazing!

“Wonderful!”

My daughter and I stayed at the Grafton on a mini break to Harrogate this half term.
The Grafton is located conveniently closely to the train station and only took us 10 minutes to walk there with our luggage.

On arrival we were greeted warmly and told our room was on the second floor. There was the offer of carrying our luggage for us but I declined as we didn’t have too much.

The room was a superior large double and it was spacious and light. The view from our windows was wonderful.

I really liked the decor too- I’m not keen on the chintzy look that a lot of B&B’s seem to go for. The Grafton is elegant and modern.

The en-suite was excellent. Spotlessly clean and containing a bath with a power shower and also a heated towel rail upon which were hung the thickest, fluffiest towels. We had an array of complimentary toiletries which I was impressed to discover were from The White Company.

On the dressing table we found Harrogate Spa spring water and plenty of choice of coffee, tea, fruit teas and hot chocolate. My daughter was excited to find biscuits and chocolates too!

We had a great nights sleep. The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable and due to the location of The Grafton being down a side street away from the main roads there was no noise pollution either.

Breakfast was served from 8am to 9.30am and there was a huge selection to choose from. Croissants, pain au chocolat, fruit, porridge, full English breakfast, cereals.

We settled on a full English each. It arrived on our table piping hot and cooked to perfection. We had poached eggs, bacon, black pudding, sausage, beans and mushrooms and a tomato. All were quality ingredients and tasted delicious.

The staff at The Grafton are so friendly and helpful. Whatever we asked of them was no trouble and they made our stay extremely pleasant and welcoming. If we’re ever in Harrogate again we’ll stay at The Grafton!

 Quality B & B”

My wife and I stayed recently for 1 night in a double superior room which ticked all the boxes, not forgetting the superb breakfast. This is one quality B & B and is definitely worth paying a bit more. Location / parking is ideal.

“Birthday Treat”

Stopped at the Grafton for my wife’s birthday in a superior double room, the room was furnished to a high standard and very clean. The breakfast was beautiful and cooked to order. The staff were helpful and very polite. Can’t wait for our return to the Grafton.

 “Great stay all around”

I stayed at The Grafton for 5 nights in December in a top-floor Superior Double room. The room itself was lovely, with modern furnishings, a large bathroom, and very comfortable bed/pillows. WiFi was included and the signal was strong. Very quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was great, with juice, fruit, pastry, and grains immediately available, plus a full menu of cook-to-order options. I was in a rush for a couple of the mornings and the staff encouraged me to sit and have some coffee along with breakfast, and I appreciated that they then made a (successful) effort to get food out quickly and me out the door. Everyone was quite friendly, and the price for the stay was very reasonable, especially in comparison to some of the nearby alternatives. I will be recommending The Grafton to my friends and co-workers.

“Ideal location, clean & modern”

Stayed here for a two night stay in August 2015 and very much enjoyed our stay. Location ideal, only 5 minute easy walk to the town centre, with small choice of restaurants and bars even closer.
The room was clean and modern, extremely comfortable and very tastefully decorated. Breakfast was both a buffet of cereals, breads, pastries, yoghurts and fresh fruits plus choice of hot cooked breakfast made to order. Full English was of high quality meats. Service was always friendly and professional with a friendly welcome from the host, but also unobtrusive.
Parking was on-street and freely available, short walk to the hotel and we experienced no problems during our stay.
Highly recommended boutique hotel for short stays in Harrogate.

“Great Place to stay in Harrogate”

This was my second visit to Harrogate and the second time I stayed at the Grafton. This is a very good Boutique Hotel and well worth the extra to stay here. The staff are very accommodating without being overbearing. There are very nice touches in the rooms and the Internet connection worked very well. Breakfast is great and it is about a 10 minute walk to the Centre of Harrogate. I will definitely stay here next time I am back in Harrogate.

“A Great Find”

My daughter and I stayed at this Boutique Hotel two nights and had a superior double each as at time of booking there were no twin rooms available. The rooms really were superior too. Immaculately clean and tastefully decorated with a fabulous en-suite, The little extras like the bathrobe and slippers and well stocked refreshments tray were much appreciated. I was a little concerned when we were driving to it as we seemed to be heading away from the centre, but the location is a very pleasant street within 5 minutes easy walk of everything Harrogate has to offer including the International Centre. Breakfast was delicious with a good choice of well cooked food, cereals, pastries etc. and the staff friendly and obliging. We could find no fault at all with this hotel and it would definitely be our first choice for any future stays in Harrogate.

December in Harrogate

With the final month of the year upon us it is a good time to reflect and look back at all the good times that we had this year. At the Grafton being awarded the certificate of excellence from TripAdviser for the 5th year in a row and being invited to TripAdvisers hall of fame, were definitely highlights for us. As well having the pleasure of welcoming both old and new guests to The Grafton that we hope to see again next year. However the year isn’t over and December is a magical with plenty more to look forward to. Harrogate is a wonderful place to visit, especially in the winter months, the Christmas lights are up and we are all definitely getting into the spirit of things. Here at The Grafton we are all hoping for a touch of snow to make this December that little bit more special. At The Grafton we offer affordable and luxurious accommodation, with one of the best breakfasts in Harrogate. We also take pride in our great facilities and friendly service making The Grafton the most enticing place to be this December.

“”FAULTLESS”” Could not fault this hotel. Very clean, great breakfast with choice of cooked, or cereals and pastries if you wanted. The staff are very friendly and make you feel really comfortable as soon as you walk through the door. Room was large with great bed had a good night sleep very quiet indeed. Close enough to town to walk 10-12 mins would recommend this hotel to anyone.

“Very stylish ” A lovely hotel, the room was great, spotless and the little touches really made it, liquorice toffee and chocolate éclairs with your cup of tea! Staff were friendly and the hotel is close enough to town for a quick walk in, would recommend this place to everyone

“A great boutique hotel” We booked two nights in this hotel for a weekend break in November. The hotel is within walking distance of the centre of Harrogate and is a small friendly hotel. Our room was comfortable and tastefully decorated, the bathroom was small but had an excellent shower and was very clean, White Co. toiletries were provided and the towels were soft and of good quality. There were plenty of electrical sockets in the room for hair dryers etc. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of cereal and fruit, we had the full breakfast which was grilled and was very well cooked, the waitress was friendly and helpful and we were asked if we needed more toast or tea.

If we were to stay again I would ask for a ground or first floor room as I did find the stairs difficult but this was a minor point. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

“A gem”

Found this boutique hotel very easy. Were given a permit for the on street parking and a warm welcome by the owner. Our room was lovely, nice and clean with a fab en-suite. Beautiful fluffy soft towels and shower cubicle with plenty of hot water and complimentary toiletries, bottled water and a good selection of hot beverages and biscuits are stocked in your room. Free wifi with no problems staying connected. The Breakfast room was light with nice decor. A good selection of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, fruit juices and homemade cake (which was delicious). Plus a selection of hot choices for breakfast, all beautifully presented by a lovely young lady. The rooms were serviced daily and left looking immaculate and fresh. The lounge area/bar is very welcoming with big sofas and daily newspapers and magazines. We have had a lovely time here and will definitely be back. Only a 5 minute walk to nearest shops, bars and restaurants.

“Great B&B, lovely rooms and very welcoming ”

I have recently stayed in this B&B and really enjoyed my stay. The rooms are lovely and very clean. The staff are great and couldn’t be more helpful especially the breakfast staff. The location is great and a very short walk to the centre. The rooms are quite expensive but would highly recommend! Thank you for a great stay!

“Leisure ”

Visited the Grafton with my partner for a 1 night stay. Stayed in a Large superior room and it was superb, the furnishings were excellent. Staff were very helpful & friendly and the breakfast was excellent also. Would recommend to anyone visitingHarrogateto stay here. A stylish hotel/B&B that is welcoming & every bit value for money.

Here are a few comments from guest who have stayed with us over the past month.

“What a fabulous place!!”

Immaculately clean, beautiful furnishings, luxurious rooms (we had the luxury double!) …wonderful breakfast, attentive service, nice quiet road but walking distance to centre, spa baths, restaurants and bars. More than value for money…would recommend to anyone..and in fact i already have!! Thank you for a lovely stay!

“A weekend away for a family wedding”

This was the perfect hotel for our family when we attended a wedding in Harrogate. We had booked two rooms – a double and a superior double – both of which were beautiful and offered perfect surroundings, plenty of space and all that we needed to prepare for the wedding. With the keys to our rooms we were given keys to the front door which gave us the flexibility we needed and meant we didn’t have to worry about getting back late. Breakfast both mornings was delicious and generous and we were impressed that the waitress remembered our orders from the day before. I would definitely stay here again – and hope to return to Harrogate to do so!

Guest Feedback

Here are a few comments from guests who have stayed with us recently.

Five star stay

We stayed in a Superior double room which was beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and very spacious. The room was quiet and had everything you could possibly want when staying away, from an iron/ironing board, fan and lovely robes. The breakfast was second to none with locally sourced produce and plenty of choice. There is lots of room for parking (free) which is another bonus. The owners & staff are very welcoming and helpful. I cannot fault this B&B it’s certainly is a five star stay!

Room Tip: Quiet rooms available but all are very well presented and immaculately clean.

Comfortable Stay

We stayed in a large room. Lovely super-kingsize bed and great to have sofa to use too.
Located conveniently for an easy stroll into town.
Breakfast was a highlight; superb quality and perfectly cooked. The waitress deserves a special mention for her cheerfulness and efficiency.
One very slightly gloomy point was that the bedside lamps were very dull with dark shades; I had to remove the shade from mine in order to be able to read in bed. Nonetheless we had a very comfortable stay.

What’s On in Harrogate this September?

Harrogate is a vibrant and exciting place to be in summer, with plenty to see and do. September being no exception to this as there is definitely something for everything.
